Celebrating Women at RCSA Elsies River: A Joyful Women’s Day Fundraiser Breakfast Hosted by the RCSA Elsies River Sunday School

On the 9th of August 2024, at the RCSA Elsies River Hall, the Rhenish Church of South Africa (RCSA) Elsies River Sunday School, also known as the Kids Ministry, hosted a heartwarming Women’s Day fundraiser breakfast. The event was a beautiful celebration of the vital roles women play within the church and an opportunity to raise funds for the Kids Ministry’s end-of-year function.
The morning began with a warm welcome from Jolene Adonis, who set a positive and inviting tone for the gathering. Following this, Merencia Fortuin, the General Secretary of the Rhenish Church South Africa, led the room in a heartfelt prayer, asking for God’s blessing over the event and the women it was meant to honor.

The program was filled with moments of inspiration and joy. Marecia, a gifted member of the South African Youth Choir, touched hearts with a beautiful song that left everyone moved. Melanie Losper followed with an encouraging message on the theme, “You Can’t Give Out of an Empty Glass: Be Filled.” She reminded everyone of the importance of taking care of themselves spiritually and emotionally, especially given the many roles women fulfill.

Edwina Louw then spoke on the topic of “Self.” She highlighted the importance of Self-Care, Self-Help, and Self-Reflection, using a creative exercise where participants were encouraged to place their worries on a plate—symbolizing the need to let go of burdens. To lighten the mood, Edwina invited four ladies to dance to the upbeat song “Lyfie,” and soon, the dance floor was filled with women celebrating and embracing their beauty and strength.

The event also included a raffle, where several attendees won notebooks, and a special performance by the RCSA Elsies River Dance Ministry. The young girls danced to “Waging War” by CeCe Winans, and it was truly inspiring to see them praising God with such passion and joy.

The morning concluded with a closing prayer by Joan, who rounded off the successful fundraiser with words of gratitude and encouragement.

If you or anyone you know would like to get involved with the Sunday School, please reach out to your local church leaders. Together, we can continue to nurture and inspire the next generation within our church community..
